We the People Day of Service
"By volunteering at Yachad's "We the People", I actually felt like I was celebrating my country. I was helping someone change their life for the better so they could provide a better life for their family."
- We the People Volunteer
We the People is open to individuals, families and groups at no cost to the volunteers. On almost every Federal holiday, (Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Veteran's Day) Yachad sponsors the repair of a single family home, community center, or group house in Washington, DC. Yachad provides project management, site supervision and materials for each project. Everyone 14 years of age or older is qualified to participate. We will guide you through the process and by the end of the day you will feel like a construction professional. All you have to do is register. You can even bring your friends and turn it into a party.
